As heard on TikTok and in movies like “To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before: PS I Still Love You”, Ashe’s song “Moral of the Story’ has gained popularity in recent months. The song, which is deeply personal to Ashe, tells the tale of how romance can go wrong and how mistakes are often made in life.

While the original version is still extremely popular, Ashe has since come out with a re-imagined version, including former One Direction turned solo star Niall Horan who brings a new take on some of the heart wrenching verses.

Ashe and Horan spent time over FaceTime discussing the song, writing new parts and cultivating a new friendship. The song was extremely important to Ashe and she wanted to ensure that anyone featured on a re-imagined version would be just as careful with it, according to an article on (“Ashe Calls on Niall Horan for Re-Imagined ‘Moral of the Story”). If you take a listen to the song, you can see that Horan did just that.

Here's a sample of Horan’s verse from the song:

“It’s funny how a memory

Turns into a bad dream

And running wild turns volatile

Ended up like strangers

And we burned down our paper house.

Talking with your father

He said that you could be mine

But some people fall in love

With the wrong people sometimes.”
