BTS has done it again. One of the most popular K-pop groups has broken records and garnered millions of fans around the world. They dropped a new music video for their newest single “Dynamite” on Friday. A feel good song with the video showcasing some fun-filled moments.
“Dynamite” is special for many reasons, but upon its release, it was set to break records. Thee video premiered on YouTube and around 3 million viewers tuned in as it dropped. The single took over iTunes' and Spotify’s charts, and it broke YouTube's record for most-viewed video in the first 24 hours with 100 million views.
With “Dynamite,” the band is expanding their musical endeavors and exploring new territory. This single is completely sung in English, a new first for them. In a virtual press conference before the video premiered, RM introduced the songs as a “new challenge” for the band.
"The song aims to bring a new surge of much-needed 'energy' to reinvigorate the global community in the midst of Covid-19," the release states.
The band described this song as stylistically different from what they’ve created and, overall, a feel-good song that is able to raise your spirits. The music video itself keeps to that promise as we see BTS in a world of color as they give us amazing dance moves, even giving homage to Michael Jackson’s iconic moves. They’re just having a great time, so you’ll want to join in and dance around your house. BTS leader, RM, explained on in interview with Entertainment Tonight that "the world needs a positive explosion” and that is what “Dynamite” has brought to the world.
BTS is set to premiere its first performance of “Dynamite” virtually at the 2020 MTV Video Music Awards on August 30. Earlier this month, BTS also announced their upcoming docuseries, “Break the Silence,” to be released on September 24th.
