Dua Lipa delivered a fun-filled groove for 2020 and is continuing the fun into 2021. She unveiled the Moonlight Edition of her sophomore album, Future Nostalgia on February 11th. The Moonlight Edition is led by her newest single “We’re Good.”
Future Nostalgia (The Moonlight Edition) features the 13 tracks from the original album plus new tracks; “We’re Good,” “If It Ain’t Me,” and “That Kind of Women.” The deluxe version of this album also includes collaborations such as “Prisoner” with Miley Cyrus, “Not My Problem” with J.I.D, “Fever” with Angèle and “Un Dia” with J Balvin, Tainy, and Bad Bunny.
Lipa described her latest single in an interview with Zane Lowe and said “I think sonically, it felt the riskiest because I don't even know what it is.” “We’re Good” shares the same DNA to tracks from Future Nostalgia, as it continues in the pop realm with an infusion of a trap beat. It’s a catchy breakup song where both parties at the end of the day are okay with moving on.
"Not gonna judge you when you're with somebody else / As long as you swear you won't be pissed when I do it myself / Let's end it like we should and say we're good," she sings about parting ways with an ex in the chorus.
“If It Ain’t Me” is what I’d describe as a disco-esque song with a modern twist. It offers a bouncy bass beat that works well with the catchy chorus of the song. “That Kind of Women” became one of my new favorites from this deluxe edition. It keeps up with the 80’s sound with a slower tempo adding a sultry addictive sound to Lipa’s vocals throughout the song.
