Jennifer Lopez and Maluma gave fans an introduction to their characters in their upcoming musical film Marry Me with their two new songs “Pa Ti” and “Lonely.”
To promote “Pa Ti,” Lopez started a dance challenge on TikTok, and all participating videos combined have reached over a billion views. The challenge has received support from some of TikTok’s biggest stars, including Charli D’Amelio and Addison Rae.
Lopez and Maluma also released a two-part music video for the songs, which was directed by Jessy Terrero. In the video, Lopez plays the role of a billionaire who is in a relationship with her driver, who is played by Maluma. At the end of the “Pa Ti” video, Maluma’s character reveals that he is an undercover FBI agent, leading into the “Lonely” video, where Lopez’s character is arrested. The video earned over 2 million views within 24 hours of being released on YouTube.
The Universal Pictures film Marry Me, which co-stars Lopez and Maluma, is set to appear in theaters on February 14, 2021. In the film, Lopez portrays a pop star who learns that her partner, played by Maluma, is having an affair, which leads her to marry a stranger, played by Owen Wilson. Along with the film, Sony Music Latin will release a soundtrack, which will include “Pa Ti,” “Lonely,” and more songs in both English and Spanish by Lopez and Maluma.
After hearing the two collaborations from Lopez and Maluma and seeing their chemistry in the music video, we can’t wait to see how they portray their characters in Marry Me.
