For the past few days all we've been talking about is Olivia Rodrigo and her song Driver's license!

Olivia Rodrigo, an unfamiliar name, is emerging on the American pop scene at only 17 years old.

With her debut single, “Drivers License”, released last week, Olivia Rodrigo took the charts by storm!

For those who don't know her!

Olivia Rodrigo became famous thanks to her appearances in Disney Channel productions.

She is a Californian songwriter, an actress, and a huge Swiftie.

From 2016 to 2019, she played Paige in Frankie and Paige, a show for kids. Then, her fame took off in 2019 when she got the lead role in the High School Musical: The Musical, the series, available on Disney+.

Why are we talking about her?

Friday, January 8th, Olivia Rodrigo released the first single from her future EP “Driver’s License”.

On YouTube, the music video already has more than 24 million views.

She is also making history by being the first Asian American woman to reach number one on the Apple Music and iTunes US charts!

Monday it became the most streamed single in one day in the platform's history (excluding Christmas classics), before continuing to break its own record in the following days.

She’s definitely the next big thing in pop music no doubt about it, that’s what you call a successful debut song !

What is the song about?

When she wrote the song, she was heartbroken, the purpose was to put all those feelings in a song.

“When I came up with “drivers license”, I was going through a heartbreak that was so confusing to me, so multifaceted.

"Putting all those feelings into a song made everything seem so much simpler and clearer—and at the end of the day, I think that’s really the whole purpose of songwriting. There’s nothing like sitting at the piano in my bedroom and writing a really sad song. It’s truly my favorite thing in the world.”

She has a beautiful voice and I think many people can relate to her story.

It's raw and it's a real experience.

She will probably get the #1 Billboard song next week!

I can't wait to see what she's got in store for her first EP!
